This spalted maple is amazing! I found the wood for this project while walking past a friend's firewood pile. What a lucky find! This lidded box was turned by hand to a shape that maximizes the aesthetics of the spalting and againg process. Special care was taken to ensure that minimal grain pattern was lost between the lid and the body, ensuring the continuity of the spalting lines and grain, and ensuring impressive beauty! These are often used to hold anything from jewelry to candy!
Finished in our jojoba oil and beeswax conditioner for an all natural, easily maintained, and food safe finish.
