Live Edge Maple Charcuterie/Serving Board with Serving "Tray"

This charcuterie board is impressive! With its crotch grain pattern, intersecting limb figure, partial live edge, and serving "tray," this board will certainly impress! The wood for this product was responsibly sourced as "urban lumber" from a local resident's yard that was destined for the burn pit. It was air dried for several months, then finished drying in our on-site, passive solar kiln. It is made from the "crotch" section of a maple log. which gave it the impressive figure and features. I decided to route in a serving "tray" or section for condiment bowls or crackers, or to separate food types (if desired). I love the way that this better exposed the figure from the intersecting limb. There are 4 thin checks (cracks) from the drying process that will not effect the integrity of the piece. I do not fill cracks in our products with epoxy as I can not speak for the food safety qualities of epoxy. We always strive to produce products as natural and safe as possible and only use epoxy when requested or when it is absolutely necessary. These checks will not effect the use, integrity, or longevity of the board.
The bottome has simple, shallow handle recesses to assist with transport.
I cut these thick so that they would be a substantial addition to your serving setup, and, with proper care, will last for generations.
Finished in our jojoba oil and beeswax conditioner for an all natural, easily maintained, and food safe finish.

*Though our cutting boards are air, then kiln dried to roughly 6-8% moisture content, some minor movement in the wood is possible. This is natural and inherent in solid wood products. Please contact us if you have any questions or concerns prior to purchase!
