This walnut "box" was turned from a cross section of walnut that included a limb crotch. This is a technically difficult turn with a low "survival" rate as they usually crack during the drying process. It is capped off with a lid made from sweetgum that was allowed to spalt and age until just the right amount of character was obtained. A finial was made from Missouri black walnut is the finishing touch. This box beautiful! These can also be used as urns for pets.
Finished in our jojoba oil and beeswax conditioner for an all natural, easily maintained, and food safe finish.
